Mimosa Ice Pops

Ingredients:

• Orange Juice
• Champagne

Directions:

We found these little ice popsicle bagsthat were perfect! You literally just add the champagne and orange juice into a pitcher and pour in the bag. We use a little funnel, because I am super messy haha! It is as simple as that. The little bags even have a “fill to here line” on them, to prevent over filling.

There are SO many options and popsicle combos you can make with these! I’d love to hear if you try it and what flavors you come up with.

I had to include this pic just for John. He was super proud of this cute little popsicle guy! (Does this remind anyone else of the castaway volley ball?!?! or is it just me…)

Vanilla Sweet Cream Coke

Then two things happened, first I got mad because I should have thought of such deliciousness on my own and second, I found any reason at all to go toSonic for happy hour EVERYDAY to get one! Thena couple weeks ago,I pull into my new favorite place and they told me they no longer made that drink!!! They have a trillion different flavors and they take that one off the menu?!? Anyways, I took this as a challenge to create my ownVanilla Sweet Cream Coke and wanted to share it with all of you! This is such an easy recipe that you can’t really mess up. 2. 2 tablespoons of half and half
3. 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (add more as needed

Instructions

1. Fill cup with ice
2. Pour the Coke into the glass - leaving a little bit of room for the cream and vanilla
3. Pour half and half and vanilla syrup into the Coke, stir and enjoy.

Cotton Candy Cocktail

This presentation of this drink is just too perfect! It is super girly, pink, and feels a little like a science experiment! (You will see what I mean, when you make it!) It is sweet, but the cotton candy doesn’t over power the drink, like I expected it too. It is just the right amount of cotton candy flavor.

Ingredients:

• Cotton Candy
• Pink Moscato

Directions:

This is honestly the simplest drink you will ever make. Take a handful of cotton candy and put in a wine glass, then pour chilled pink moscato on top! You will see the cotton candy start to dissolve really quick – it was kinda of like a science experiment and made it even more fun!

Voila! That is all there is too it! Too add an extra special touch, I made little name tags for each girl and had individual bottles of moscato. I already had the cotton candy out in the glasses, but do this at the last possible minute, because the cotton candy starts to harden when it is left out too long. 1. 3/4 oz Malibu
2. 3/4 oz Captain Morgan
3. 2 oz Pineapple Juice
4. 1 oz Blue Curacao
5. Splash of Grenadine

Instructions

1. Fill glass with ice
2. Pour Malibu and Captain over the ice
3. Add Blue Curacao
4. And finish with the pineapple juice to create a nice layered drink
5. For fun fill a shark toy with Grenadine and use it to add it to the drink for a "blood" in the water effect

Notes

1. If you don't care about the layers of the drink then just combine all of the ingredients, stir and enjoy

Strawberry Flamingo Slush Cocktail!

Ingredients:

• Red Moscato
• Lemonade
• Fresh Strawberries
• ADORABLE Flamingo Straws ( Not having this flamingo straw in your drink would be like getting in the pool without waiting 30 minutes after you eat. You could, but it will definitely “cramp” your style.) Seriously, it puts this drink OVER the top!

Directions:

Blend 2 cups of strawberries, 1 cup of moscoto and 1/2 cup of lemonade with ice! So simple, so refreshing, and perfect to sip on while lounging by the pool! Enjoy!

Blackberry Mojitos

If you follow us on instagram, you may have seen that we have been guest posting on At Home with Kristyn Cole lately. We recently shared this recipe on her blog and HEB even shared it on their instagram! We were so excited and really wanted to share this with y’all to enjoy as well!

Ingredients:

• 1 Cup of Blackberries (save some for garnish)
• 4oz White Rum
• 10 Fresh Mint Leaves
• 2 tsp of Sugar
• Juice of 2 Limes
• 6oz of Club Soda

Directions:

• In a shaker, muddle* the mint leaves and the sugar with either a muddler or a wooden spoon
• Puree the blackberries in a blender or you can muddle them as well (I just used my magic bullet)
• Add blackberries, rum, and lime juice to the shaker with the mint and sugar
• Shake it vigorously (or like a polaroid picture as you sing the Outcast song now)
• Add ice and club soda to a glass and then pour in the blackberry mixture
• Gently stir and add blackberries and mint for garnish
• Enjoy

*To muddle means to press the ingredients against the side of the glass, this will help release the flavors of the ingredients to mix well with the drink.

Ingredients:

• Shock top or Blue Moon Beer
• Orange Juice
• Orange slices
• Chilled Glass ( optional)

Directions:

This is so complicated…first you blend ice and orange juice and put it in a glass. Then fill the rest of the glass with your choice of beer. Lastly, add a orange slice for a garnish. ( Told you that it was complicated!)

Caribbean Margarita

This is my go-to margarita during Spring and Summer because it is so refreshing and easy to make! It was inspired by one of our favorite margaritas from Texas Roadhouse (restaurant) the Jamaican Cowboy.

Recipe:

• 1 ounce Coconut Rum
• 1 ounce Tequila
• 1/2 ounce Peach Schnapps
• 1 ounce Margarita Mix
• 1 ounce Orange Juice
• 1 ounce Pineapple Juice
• Orange or pineapple garnishes
• Cute drink straws and umbrellas – I am a firm believer they make the drink taste better

This is also a great recipe to make in a larger batch and use at a bridal shower (check out my favorite bridal shower tips here) or when entertaining!

John came home a couple weeks ago and surprised me with these adorable “Hey Y’all” glasses! Aren’t they cute?!

How to Brew Coffee with a Chemex

Things you will need:

• Scale
• Timer – or use your iphone
• Chemex 6-Cup Classic Series Glass Coffee Maker
• Chemex Bonded Unbleached Pre-folded Square Coffee Filters, 100 Count
• Coffee bean grinder – This is the one we use – Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill
• Coffee beans – 52grams
• Water – 700 grams
• Optional- Bonavita 1.0L Electric Kettle BV3825B – This isn’t essential but it will help to have more control over your pour.

We are going to start by heating up our water either using a Gooseneck kettle or another method you choose. While the water is heating take the chemex filter and place it in the Chemex. Your Chemex filter will be folded into quadrants. Open your filter so that 3 layers of the filter are on one side and only 1 is on the other. And then face those 3 layers toward the spout of the Chemex.

Next take some of our water that has been heating up in the kettle and just wet the filter. The biggest reason for this is so that the coffee doesn’t taste papery (is that a word?). Once the filter is wet, dump out the water that is in the Chemex.

Now things are getting serious, It’s time to add the coffee. So grab your 52 grams of coffee and grind them to a medium course grind. Them add them into the filter.

Set the Chemex on your scale and then turn it on so that it calculates the weight accurately. Add 100 g of water. When pouring the water do so in a circular motion to wet all of the grounds evenly. This next part is called “The Bloom.”This is where the coffee is being saturated with the water and you will literally see it grow or… bloom. Once you add the 100 grams of water let it bloom for 1 minute 30 seconds.

After 1 minute and 30 seconds, you are going to add the remaining 600 grams of water to the coffee. Start by repeating the circular motion again to wet the grounds once more and then move the pour to the middle of grounds (this is called a “Center Pour”) and pour the remaining water into the center. Once you have poured the remaining 600 grams to have a total of 700 grams of water then you can set your timer for 4 minutes 30 seconds and allow “The Drawdown” to happen. This a fancy term that means your coffee is brewing and then draining into the bowl portion of the Chemex.After the time has expired, remove the filter and your coffee is ready to be poured into your favorite mug.

That’s it, you did it, you have upgraded your coffee skills or at least brag to your friends that you have a coffee brewer that looks so amazing that it has been a feature of the New York Museum of Modern Art since 1944 and to go even further, it was used by James Bond in From Russia with Love.
